Position Summary: 


 

 



You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, traceability, and timely movement of materials throughout the organization. This individual will oversee inbound and outbound logistics while ensuring quality verification, documentation compliance, and ERP integrity. 



 



You will act as a key liaison between Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Service to ensure materials are received correctly, inspected properly, stored accurately, and shipped efficiently. 



 



Primary Responsibilities:



 



Logistics & Receiving (Quality-Focused) Inbound Shipment & Quality Inspections 



 





  • Coordinate and manage all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders, packing slips, and ERP records 





 





  • Perform detailed inspections of received goods to verify quantity, condition, and compliance with specifications  





 





  • Conduct incoming inspection of received goods by comparing them to engineering drawings and measuring critical dimensions with calipers.  





 





  • Identify and document non-conformances, shortages, or damages; initiate corrective actions with Purchasing and suppliers 





 





  • Ensure all required documentation (customs, certificates, compliance records) is complete and properly filed 





 





  • Maintain accurate ERP entries to ensure inventory integrity and traceability 





 





  • Optimize material flow within the plant to support production timelines 





 



Outbound Logistics & Shipping 



 






  • Coordinate and prepare domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with carrier, customs, and documentation requirements 








  • Prepare waybills, commercial invoices, and shipping documentation for parts and service orders 








  • Load packages, pallets, or freight safely and according to carrier instructions and company standards 








  • Maintain accurate logs of shipped goods and tracking numbers. 








  • Work closely with Purchasing and Project Management to align shipment schedules with project timelines 








  • Arrange and optimize deliveries to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors while monitoring freight performance and cost efficiency 








  • Support warranty and service shipments with urgency and accuracy 








  • Notify relevant teams of delays, damage or exceptions.  






Inventory Control & Material Planning 






  • Review material requirements for upcoming assembly jobs to proactively identify shortages 








  • Partner with Purchasing and Production to mitigate supply chain risks 








  • Maintain organized, secure, and audit-ready inventory storage areas 








  • Ensure accurate material location tracking within the ERP system 








  • Participate in inventory counts and support continuous improvement of inventory accuracy 






Continuous Improvement & Compliance 






  • Support quality initiatives by identifying process gaps in receiving, storage, and shipping 








  • Recommend improvements to logistics processes, packaging standards, and material handling practices 








  • Work with Purchasing to resolve shortages, overages and damaged goods. 








  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies, including proper material handling and equipment operation 








  • Maintain forklift and crane operation compliance (if certified)  








Education & Experience 






  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred 








  • 2–5 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or materials coordination within a manufacturing environment 








  • Strong understanding of quality inspection processes and non-conformance reporting 








  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management 








  • Familiarity with customs documentation and international shipping procedures is an asset 








  • Experience in automation, equipment manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred 






Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 






  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality accuracy 








  • Strong knowledge of Logistics and Customs 








  • Solid understanding of supply chain flow and material planning 








  • Ability to identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues 








  • Strong organizational and time management skills 








  • Effective communication skills across departments and with external partners 








  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment 








  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification is an asset 








  • Valid driver’s license
