Superintendent

Description:

Superintendents ensure that quality, productivity and safety are paramount in day to day operations and that jobs are done on time and on budget. They are primarily on site, manage field operations and review workmanship.  The Superintendent is required to manage all aspects of client relations, support management of cost controls to ensure profitability and quality.  



  • Works with the Project Builder to control clients’ schedule expectations

  • Ensures job stays on track and finishes on budget

  • Safety training and certificate management for site employees 

  • Quality – ‘Communicates proactively with client on tolerance requirements of interfacing work and ensures compliance prior to accepting workfaces 


Site Management



  • Solve problems and ensure foremen/tradesmen have the information and materials they need to be successful 

  • Responsible for quality control  

  • Conduct customer service calls with major clients as required 

  • Direct activities of Foremen, crews on the job site


Manage Labour



  • Hire, Train and provide orientation for new employees

  • Establish and maintain contract-based work force

  • Support Foreman in engaging with employees and clients

  • Provide leadership, train and mentor others

  • Provide feedback and complete all company employee support requirements


Safety and Culture 



  • Promote and implement a HSE culture 

  • Personally follow all safety standards and model appropriate behavior regarding safety 

  • Support and promote TS core values 


Required Skills and Experience:



  • 3+ years at a Foreman level  

  • 3 years successful experience in managing people 

  • Extensive successful experience in oversight and management of large construction projects 

  • Ability to read and review shop drawings, blueprints, interior design, and base building drawings 

  • Knowledge and/or experience in project coordination is an asset 

  • Valid driver’s license 

  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook and AutoCAD 

  • Technical Diploma, Trade Certification or related industry experience
