The Project Manager will directly oversee or execute project delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, managing customer expectations, and optimizing resources to maximize operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in project execution, define technical execution plans, support commercial T&Cs negotiations from an execution standpoint, and be the focal point for customer and internal technical stakeholders.
This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role requiring someone with strong technical fluency, excellent project controls skills, commercial insight, and proven ability to coordinate with field delivery teams while protecting margin and schedule.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee successful bid and execution of the project to meet customer timelines, technical requirements and expectations.
- Review contract documents and technical specifications to define project scope, timeline, resource needs, acceptance criteria and critical deliverables.
- Support the proposal and estimating efforts as required — translate engineering scope into executable work packages, long‑lead identification and cost/time inputs for pricing.
- Lead project kick‑offs; establish clear deliverables, milestones, roles and responsibilities with internal teams, vendors and the customer.
- Plan, schedule and monitor project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools and maintain baseline and rolling schedules (critical path analysis and recovery planning).
- Optimize resources to maximize monthly deliverables and help achieve forecasted revenue and margin targets.
- Proactively manage scope changes via robust change order processes, anticipate risks and implement contingency and recovery plans.
- Foster and maintain strong client, vendor and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth execution and to identify growth opportunities (change orders, services, extensions).
- Attend site meetings, provide technical guidance as needed, and ensure safe, compliant work practices.
- Identify and escalate project issues promptly and drive effective, timely resolutions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, customer deliverables and internal controls.
Must‑have qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent technical qualification.
- PMP or similar project management certification mandatory.
- 5 – 7+ years’ project delivery experience in industrial or large‑scale technical projects
- Proven experience delivering projects or program workstreams in the $10M+ range
Desired Skills/ Knowledge:
- Strong technical literacy
- Experience in the following areas of project management: Customer management, scheduling, planning, critical path analysis, change order management, risk management, cost estimation, and contract negotiation.
- Experience reviewing contracts and supporting commercial/legal teams during T&Cs negotiations; ability to translate contractual terms into execution risk and mitigation measures.
- Ability to identify and manage project risks while ensuring efficient execution.
- Willingness and ability to travel and be onsite when required.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical and strategic information
- Ability to work independently
