Service Technician

Elrus aggregate systems.
Company: Elrus Aggregate Systems
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Type: Full-time
Description:

You’re looking for two things in your career. The opportunity to do highly varied and interesting work, utilizing your full set of technical skills, and the opportunity to work on big, complex machines in a unique industry.

We’re Elrus Aggregate Systems, and since 1975 we’ve been an industry leader in rugged, portable, and reliable aggregate mining equipment. We pride ourselves on being innovators in our field, and have pioneered machines that have since become industry standards (like our centralized control van).

Now we’re looking for talented, hard-working individuals who can continue our tradition of excellent customer service and make a positive impact on every job.

The Position

As our new Service Technician, you’ll spend most of your time in the field, performing inspections and repairs on our clients’ equipment.

Succeeding in this role requires excellent technical/mechanical aptitude. You’ll need to become an expert on the machines we service, and perform high-quality repairs quickly and efficiently, to get our customers up and running again.

You’ll also need strong customer service skills. It is essential that you’re able to build trust with our clients through your confidence and competence. You’re honest and trustworthy, and dedicated to the role.

Practically speaking, you will:

  • Learn the ins and outs of all our machinery, product lines, service standards, and procedures.

  • Travel to client sites on a regular basis (mines, quarries, gravel pits etc.), and perform field repairs and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision.

  • Repair and service a range of heavy machinery, including conveyors, crushers, feeders, and other aggregate equipment.

  • Build strong customer relationships.

  • Provide expert advice to clients.

  • Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.

  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Working @ Elrus

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work for occasional off hour/long distance service calls, and on-call responsibilities.

You’ll make a great wage with Elrus, starting at $25-$28/hour, depending on your skill and experience. You’ll also get a great benefits package and paid vacation.

You’ll also have plenty of opportunity for overtime if you want it.

It is important to note that some of our clients require drug and alcohol testing to be completed prior to on-site work, so you must be willing to submit to frequent testing throughout the year as required.

With plenty of room for growth, a strong culture of safety and respect, and the opportunity to build a meaningful career, it’s no wonder so many of our employees have been with us for so long. If you’re looking to take care of customers for a company that’s going to take care of you, we’d like to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • Experience doing mechanical work, preferably with heavy industrial equipment (crushers, conveyors etc.) or similar.

  • Strong welding experience.

  • Good working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Ability to lift/carry 50+ lbs, and general physical fitness/ability.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Willingness to travel overnight from time to time.

How to Apply

Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume. The application will assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, and should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After submitting, you'll receive an email inviting you to log in and view your assessment results.
