Assistant Store Manager 

Your goal in this position is to quickly get up to speed with all our policies and procedures, and support the full operations of the branch. You will use your fantastic communication and leadership skills to work in close partnership with the branch manager to support staff management, customer satisfaction, product presentation, inventory management, as well as seasonal changes and promotional activities. 

You have strong relationship building skills, and an acute sense of how to motivate your people, elevating the capabilities of the entire team. You earn the respect of the people around you with your work ethic, knowledge, and understanding, and can effectively coach and mentor your team members. 

You will also bring excellent sales customer service skills to the role. You understand that impeccable customer service is an integral element of the company’s success, and you bring that attitude to all your customer interactions, allowing you to increase sales, and grow the business even further. 

Practically speaking, you will: 

• Support the Branch Manager to manage all aspects of the day to day operation of the store.


• Assist Branch manager with recruiting, hiring and training seasonal sales professionals.


• Responsible for opening and/or closing the store.


• Complete all required bank and financial responsibilities at the branch.


• Build customer relationships by providing prompt and exceptional sales and after-sales service.


• Maximize store and personal profitability through suggestive selling, add-on sales techniques, and a strong closing rate.


• Effectively manage your sales staff performance.


• Assist in driving merchandising directives and standards to achieve financial targets.


• Stay knowledgeable about the products, services, promotions and policies and share this knowledge with the team. 

Working @ Discounter’s Pool and Spa 

This is a full-time permanent position, working out of our Mississauga location. We offer an attractive total compensation package that is commensurate with experience, and includes benefits, vacation, and bonus plan. 

Your work week will vary depending on the season. You can expect typical retail hours throughout the year with heavier loads during the busy season, including weekends. During this time, it’s all hands-on deck, and everyone pulls together to make the branch a success, and keep our clients happy.

Qualifications 

• 3-5 years of experience working the retail industry


• Experience managing and supervising a team of people in a retail environment


• Experience in with inventory management, budgeting, or sales analysis


• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Google apps


• Previous experience in service and repair in the pool/spa industry is an asset


• A post-secondary education is an asset
