Job Application
Project Administrator

You’re an aspiring Project Administrator looking for a new and challenging opportunity where you can work autonomously.
You’re helpful, organized and love administrative responsibilities.
We’re LE Cruickshanks Sheet Metal Ltd., and we’ve been looking for you. We’re one of Halifax’s most reputable and progressive sheet metal companies, with 40+ employees, and clients both large and small.
We’ve been in the business for over 32 years, offering our clients support with design-build solutions and value engineering. We’re tried, tested, and true, so our clients have a high level of confidence when we’re on the job.
Now we’re looking to add a new Project Administrator to our team.
Project Administrator
As our Project Administrator, you’ll support our General Manager and Project Foremen. You’ll work closely with the GM as their right-hand person, handling communication, attending site visits, and taking care of any details related to ongoing projects and operations.
Our Project Foremen will rely on you to provide them with the documentation and information they need. This will often be in advance of projects, but when plans change on site, you’ll be their first call.
You’ll succeed in this role because you’re a self-starter who can think on your feet. You bring sense out of chaos with your exceptional problem solving skills. People count on you to keep them on track.
Practically speaking, you will:
- Communicate effectively and promptly with customers and clients via phone and email
- Serve as administrative support and the main point of contact in the office for GM and all project foremen
- Liaise between the office and the field to meet deadlines and protocols
- Build and develop administrative structures and processes to refine our operation
- Assist with projects by forecasting and estimating with our new software
- Work in both the office and sometimes field environment
- Read and interpret construction documents
- Prepare construction budget estimates
- Review and organize Site Instructions, Change Orders and related construction documents
Working At LE Cruickshanks:
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with flexibility in hours as needed. Salary will be commensurate with experience. We also offer full benefits and a pension plan.
We’re a small, growing business and we trust our people to get the job done. You won’t be micromanaged here. Instead, you’ll be an important member of this close-knit team, with the chance to grow and shape the way we do business.
This is a great opportunity if you’re newly graduated from a construction management program and looking for your first big role – the one that will act as a stepping stone to the rest of your career. It’s also a strong fit if you have administrative experience and you’re looking to use your experience to make a big difference.
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction management or administration
- Strong computer skills particularly in MS Office, and the ability to learn new programs
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Driver’s license is a must
- CMT diploma or certification (an asset)
