Field Crew Helper
We can guarantee that you will never get bored in this role. Much of your time will be spent in the field, working at different installation sites throughout the province and out of country, installing and maintaining water, waste water systems, and de-watering systems. Your work will help provide communities with clean drinking water, keep sewage out of lakes and rivers, and provide essential flood relief.
This is an unique industry which involves extensive on the job training. You will start as a field helper learning the basics of pump installation, rigging, electrical, troubleshooting, and mechanical installations. With time and experience there is an opportunity to move into a lead hand position where you will be running the crew.
You will be given the opportunity to acquire a Class 1 drivers license, stiff boom crane operator certification, pump installers certification, and countless other safety related tickets.
Practically speaking, you will:
- Use hand and power tools to assist lead hands in the assembly, installation and repair of groundwater and wastewater pumping and distribution equipment
- Drive service trucks to and from job sites
- Load and unload service trucks
- Demonstrate and ensure workplace health and safety procedures are followed, at all times
Working @ Precision Service and Pumps
This is a full-time permanent position, working four, 10 hour days a week. We have lots of work, so many of our people end up working a fifth at full overtime rates, and you’re welcome to do so as well. We offer a highly competitive starting wage range of $14-$20/hour commensurate with experience, as well as comprehensive benefits, RSP matching, tool and gear allowance, and lots of training that is fully covered.
It is important to note, that this is a VERY physically demanding role. You need to be willing to undergo physical fitness testing, work outdoors in all weather conditions, work out of town for up to three weeks at a time, and undergo occasional drug testing depending on client requirements.

Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
- Ability to drive a 5-ton truck towing a trailer
- Must be physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy loads
- Ability to work out of town and long hours
- Class 1 driver’s license considered an asset
