Job Application
Service and Repair Technician (Electronics)

Are you looking for a chance to work in a small town, where you’ll have regular daytime hours and the flexibility to spend time with your family?
Maybe you’re just out of college, or maybe you’re a seasoned electronics technician. Either way, this is a great opportunity to work with a strong team and grow in your craft.
We’re Taylor Electronic Services (TES) and we provide OEM service to local and national clients. We pride ourselves on expert industry knowledge and the highest standards of service. Now we’re searching for a service and repair technician to join our team immediately.
Service and Repair Technician
Your primary goal will be to service and repair equipment made by our partner manufacturer in a timely and high-quality manner. You’ll work in our shop at your own bench, rarely doing any travel or field service.
You’ll mostly be working on control equipment used in large mining sites. It’s high quality, high technology equipment that our clients rely on for large scale operations. You’ll make sure this important work is done perfectly.
Specifically, you will:
- Learn manufacturer’s equipment and accessories for repetitive servicing and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of digital and analog electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot using schematics/drawings, experience, and help from coworkers.
- Manufacture of OEM cables and accessories, and custom product requests.
- Maintain proper paper work, reporting and database information for items repaired.
- Ensure procedures are current and accurate, and create new procedures as required.
- Refurbish customer products by dismantling, cleaning and reassembling.
- Generate ideas and plans for TES’ expansion and diversification.
If you’re an experienced technician, we’d love to bring you in on the creation of custom products for specialized field uses, when requested by our partner. This involves collaborative design conception, engineering of the product, and then sourcing the necessary components.
You’ll be great at this job if you’re skilled in:
-
Customer Service – you’ll deal with end-users to discover how the equipment was being used, and any details needed to help your troubleshooting. -
Troubleshooting – you use all available resources, including determination and teamwork, to find and fix the problem. Efficiency is key and you’ll be expected to use teamwork for persistent issues. -
Seeing the big picture – in engineering and business, you try to understand the context, and that makes your decision making excellent. -
Self-driven learning – you ask questions and consistently pursue deeper knowledge.
Everyone here is interested in the way their work impacts the industrial operations they serve. This is an opportunity for someone who is curious to speak with end-users and learn about the processes this work facilitates.
Working @ TES
This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. You’ll rarely work overtime and we’re quite flexible about time off when you need it. We offer benefits and a starting wage between $17 and $19 per hour, commensurate with experience.
You’ll love the environment that we’ve cultivated here. There’s a high degree of professionalism, but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We have fun together and the lines of communication are always open.
