Geneva Global Ethiopia (GGE) is an international non-governmental organization registered under the Agency of Civil Society Organization with certificate No 1724. GGE has been working in the education sector since 2011 G.C particularly on accelerated education program. Currently GGE is seeking candidates for a Program Officer role.
Position Summary:
The Program Officer is responsible for monitoring and supporting regional staff implementing an innovative secondary education program. She/He will ensure program quality, adherence to implementation plans, and provide technical guidance to regional teams. The Program Officer will report to the Program Manager.
The Program Officer is responsible for:

Program Implementation Support: Oversee and provide technical support to regional staff to ensure effective and high-quality implementation of the assigned program/project.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Track program progress, collect and analyze data, and ensure timely reporting on key indicators.

Capacity Building and Technical Assistance: Support training and professional development for regional/field teams to strengthen program implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: Work closely with government, local partners, and other stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.

Program Quality and Compliance: Ensure that program activities align with Geneva Global Ethiopia’s quality standards, donor requirements, and national education policies.
In fulfillment of these responsibilities, the Program Officer coordinates closely with other members of the GG-Eth team to ensure a fully coherent and effective overall program design, implementation, and outcomes.
Major Activities and Tasks:
The Program Officer fulfills, coordinates, and/or supports implementation of the following activities and tasks to contribute to the effective conduct of Geneva Global Ethiopia’s education program and successful attainment of the associated outcomes.

Program Implementation Support: The Program Officer ensures that regional teams effectively implement the assigned program in accordance with the program design and work plans. Key activities and tasks falling within this area of responsibility include the following:

Provide regular technical support to regional teams through field visits, meetings, and direct assistance.

Support regional staff in adapting program activities to local contexts while maintaining program integrity.

Ensure timely procurement and distribution of program resources to implementation sites.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: The Program Officer ensures that program progress is systematically tracked and reported. Key activities and tasks falling within this area of responsibility include the following:

Monitor program activities to ensure alignment with implementation plans and targets.
-
Collect, analyze, and compile program data to inform decision-making and reporting.
-
Prepare timely reports for internal use and donor reporting requirements.

Capacity Building and Technical Assistance: The Program Officer strengthens the capacity of regional teams to deliver high-quality education interventions. Key activities and tasks falling within this area of responsibility include the following:

Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for regional staff.
-
Provide guidance on best practices in pedagogy, accelerated learning, and inclusive education.

Develop and disseminate training materials and guidelines to support program implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: The Program Officer collaborates with government authorities, NGOs, and other education stakeholders to enhance program impact. Key activities and tasks falling within this area of responsibility include the following:

Build and maintain relationships with local education authorities, partner organizations, and community leaders.
-
Represent the assigned program in meetings, forums, and coordination platforms.
-
Advocate for policies and practices that support sustainable educational outcomes for learners in transition.

Program Quality and Compliance: The Program Officer ensures that all program activities adhere to Geneva Global Ethiopia’s quality standards and compliance requirements. Key activities and tasks falling within this area of responsibility include the following:

Ensure all program interventions align with national education frameworks and donor expectations.
-
Maintain documentation and compliance records for program activities.
-
Identify and address challenges affecting program quality and implementation effectiveness.
The Program Officer shall also perform any other duties assigned by Program Manager. All services, duties, and activities performed or to be performed by the employee shall be subject to the specific instructions and requirements of Geneva Global.

Qualifications:
-
BA degree in Education Planning and Measurement, Pedagogy, or Leadership.
-
2-5 years of experience in program management within the NGO sector.
-
Strong ability to design and implement education programs.
-
Proven experience in providing training for teachers and leaders.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
