Geneva Global Ethiopia (GGE) is an international non-governmental organization registered under the Agency of Civil Society Organization with certificate No 1724. GGE has been working in the education sector since 2011 G.C particularly on accelerated education program. Currently GGE is seeking candidates for a Gender, Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager role.
Position Overview
The Gender, Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager for Geneva Global Ethiopia’s Programs will oversee the integration of gender-sensitive and inclusive practices across the program in three key areas:

Education – ensuring equitable access to quality education for all genders and marginalized groups.

Community Engagement – fostering inclusive participation and leadership in program activities.

Monitoring and Evaluation – tracking gender, safeguarding and inclusion outcomes to inform program improvements and ensure sustainable impact.
Key Responsibilities
The Gender, Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager is responsible for:

Ensuring Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Education Practices across GGE’s Programs
- Strengthen equitable access to education for marginalized groups, including girls and children with disabilities.

Support curriculum adaptation and teacher training to incorporate gender, safeguarding and inclusion principles.

Promotin Inclusive Community Engagement
-
Foster gender-sensitive participation and leadership in program activities.
-
Develop strategies to enhance community awareness and support for gender equity in education.
-
Safeguarding Policy Development and Implementation
-
Lead the development, review, and implementation of safeguarding policies, ensuring alignment with international best practices and Geneva Global’s standards.
-
Provide advisory support to staff and partners on safeguarding matters.
-
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning on Gender, safeguarding and Inclusion
-
Design and implement gender, safeguarding and inclusion of assessment frameworks.
-
Ensure data collection and reporting systems reflect gender-disaggregated insights.
-
Conduct regular safeguarding risk assessments across program locations.
-
Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address identified safeguarding risks.
-
Monitor adherence to safeguarding policies and report compliance gaps.

Capacity Building and Training
-
Provide training for Geneva Global Ethiopia and Partners staff, educators, and stakeholders on gender equality, safeguarding and inclusive education.

Develop tools and resources to support gender-responsive practices within the program.
-
Design and deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions for staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
-
Develop and distribute safeguarding communication materials.
-
Ensure all staff understand and adhere to safeguarding principles and policies.

Collaboration and Advocacy
-
Work closely with program teams, government agencies, and partners to advocate for gender, safeguarding and inclusion of policies.
-
Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities and safeguarding networks.
-
Ensure safeguarding is embedded across all stages of program implementation
-
Represent Geneva Global Ethiopia in relevant forums and networks.
Major Activities and Tasks
The Gender, Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager fulfills, coordinates, and/or supports implementation of the following activities and tasks:
1. Ensuring Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Education Practices

Support the adaptation of teaching materials to promote inclusivity and equity.
-
Guide teachers and facilitators in integrating gender-sensitive pedagogy.
-
Ensure gender-responsive strategies in assigned Program implementation in Secondary School.
2. Promoting Inclusive Community Engagement
-
Organize and facilitate community dialogues on gender equality in education.
-
Develop partnerships with local organizations to amplify gender inclusion efforts.
-
Engage parents, caregivers, and community leaders to support inclusive education.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning on Gender and Inclusion
-
Develop gender-sensitive indicators and track program outcomes.
-
Conduct assessments to identify barriers and opportunities for gender equity.
-
Provide data-driven recommendations for program improvements.
4. Capacity Building and Training
-
Design and conduct training sessions for teachers and program staff.
-
Develop gender and inclusion of training manuals and resources.
-
Provide ongoing support to ensure the application of training content.
5. Collaboration and Advocacy
-
Represent Geneva Global Ethiopia in gender, safeguarding and inclusion-related forums.
-
Collaborate with stakeholders to influence policy and practice.
-
Strengthen linkages with government bodies and NGOs working on gender, safeguarding and inclusion.
The Gender, Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager shall also perform any other duties agreed to with the Programs Director. All services, duties, and activities performed shall be subject to the specific instructions and requirements of Geneva Global.
Qualities and Qualifications
Geneva Global expects the Employee to:

Possess academic and professional qualifications, experience, and expertise required to meet the responsibilities identified above with excellence.

Hold a master’s degree in social sciences or a related field.
-
Have more than five years of experience working in NGOs, particularly in gender, safeguarding and inclusion-focused roles.

Be energetic in rendering services to Geneva Global Ethiopia.
-
Be attentive to detail and work methodically and accurately.
-
Possess and demonstrate good and positive communication skills.
-
Be professional and kind in all interactions, whether with colleagues, partners, clients, authorities, beneficiaries, or any other outside person.

Use initiative and work independently, taking proactive measures as appropriate.

Participate actively, productively, and respectfully as a member of the Geneva Global Ethiopia and GGI team, upholding all Geneva Global values and standards.

Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
-
Exercise the utmost good faith towards Geneva Global both in rendering services and in all dealings with Geneva Global and stakeholders.
