We are interested in what makes you uncommon.
Hiring people with different voices, different experiences, and different perspectives has expanded our thinking, enriched our culture, and made us a better company.
Do you have something unique to offer us?
We’re looking for a Finance Director at our headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
Please read this ad thoroughly, and please note: We do not accept resumes without the accompaniment of a cover letter. We want to get to know you a bit, so help us out!
A Little About Us:
We sell and design desks, chairs and things that keep your body moving, so you can work and live more fully. We’re proud to be a unique and diverse team; a quirky collection of creatives, nerds, yogis, dancers, foodies, climbers, cyclists, and movement fanatics. We expect all team members to “come as you are” and we truly mean it.
We are people who don’t fit into boxes and don’t put up with cubicles. Our “open door” policy is more of a “no door” policy. We like to talk to each other, share ideas, and collaborate, preferably over kombucha, happy hour, or a waterfront stroll.
We hire people we believe in and who are equally passionate about engaging in a progressive and active workplace. We are constantly moving, learning, and evolving both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, we believe life is too short not to love where you work.
A Little About You:
You have a knack for looking past the numbers to understand what’s truly driving business performance, and are naturally curious about how to solve problems. You are simultaneously a big-picture thinker, while not being afraid to roll up your sleeves and get into the weeds. You are at ease in both working solo on a project and collaborating across a broad and diverse team to get things done--all while actively managing against competing priorities and deadlines. By nature you are a self-starter and can work with little direction to drive the business forward. Your combination of technical skills and financial acumen are an invaluable combination, allowing you to envision the solution and build it yourself. You are a quick study, and have a deep history of learning and mastering new technology with ease— be it Excel, reporting software, ERPs, databases, or the like. At the end of the day, you have a knack for keeping a level head and can appreciate how Fully’s core values of collaboration, integrity, compassion, balance and drive positively contribute to a high performing accounting and finance function.

In this role, the Finance Director collaborates with functional leaders within Fully to identify reporting challenges, and build solutions to disseminate that information to the necessary audience(s) within the company. As a subsidiary to a public company, the Finance Director will own Fully’s financial reporting function, ensuring necessary internal and external reports are delivered on time, often under strict deadlines. Additionally, they work closely with department heads and the C-Suite to determine requirements, and be proactive about designing and building dashboards and other data visualizations to help monitor business performance. Finally, the Finance Director will be in charge of ensuring data integrity across the organization, so that leadership and key decision makers are all operating off one source of accurate and consistent information— rather than relying on siloed spreadsheets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with internal and external team members to gather and validate functional reporting requirements -- both financial and operational.
Designs, develops, and delivers reporting outputs in various formats, including reports, analyses, searches, SQL queries, and data visualizations.

Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to understand and translate complex reporting needs into clean, concise, and well-designed reporting outputs.
Strong technical acumen; including comfort with databases, SQL, Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, and visualization software.
Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in working with numbers.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in interfacing with varying levels of leadership.
Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
3+ years Public Accounting experience and CPA/MBA is strongly preferred.
Hands on experience implementing accounting, reporting, and data management software required.
