A little about you:
We are looking for someone with solid accounting interest and experience. You will be working closely with the rest of the Accounting team, assisting in handling the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner. The right candidate will be sharp, detail- oriented, and not afraid of data entry. The ability to think quickly and contribute solutions is something we strongly value. The Accounts Payable Coordinator facilitates all bill payment and purchasing activity while providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. They will work closely with the Accounting team while being an approachable resource for other departments throughout the company. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by ensuring the validity of incoming invoices, with sources both inside and outside the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pays vendors by monitoring invoices, verifying federal ID numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos.
Receives and verifies employee expense reports and audits for accuracy.
Properly codes transactions to necessary accounts in the general ledger by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
Verifies all invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for the requisite approvals.
Creates, maintains, and monitors vendor records in the accounting system, by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Comfortable with performing other accounting and clerical functions to support the accounting department, as requested.
Process hard copies of company documents, such as maintaining files and mailing checks.
Skills and Qualifications:
4-year degree in Accounting/Finance or 2+ years of experience in a corporate accounting department.
Knowledge or experience with basic accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong accuracy in working with numbers.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize and manage multiple tasks of differing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to collaborate with other members of the accounting team, and also to work on projects without supervision when appropriate.
High levels of personal integrity and experience in managing and protecting confidential data and information.
Strong experience in working with complex accounting systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in an integrated ERP environment, preferably with Netsuite.
Experience in developing and working with internal controls, particularly those related to payments and cash cycles.
Reports to: Controller
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.
Compensation: This is a salaried position; range will be discussed at the initial interview.
