Driller / Blaster

You have a couple of years of experience under your belt, you like working outdoors and you're looking for a great company, where you can put your skills to work.

 Driller / Blaster


 We’re looking for driller/blaster to help us achieve the goals we set out for us and our customers.


The best driller/blasters are people who are smart, keep themselves organized, and take special care to do a good job. You have great situational awareness, and can push your machine to its full capabilities while understanding its restrictions.


Ideally, you have some experience running heavy equipment, specifically a drill, taking care of your machines, as well as the following qualifications: 




  • Conduct operational checks in carrier drill and attachments.





  • Moving drill from job site to job site




  • Drilling bench  to specified depths. 




  • Inspecting drilling for accuracy




  • Performing routine maintenance on drill and attachments




  • Reporting deficiencies as per manufacturers specifications





  • Experience working in a quarry or sand and gravel pit


  • Safety training and mechanical aptitude is an asset


  • Common core training is an asset 


Practical Details


Walker runs various quarries in Essex County, and you’ll be working primarily in our McGregor Quarry, in the township of Amherstburg.


This is a full time permanent position, with an hourly wage is $32.85/hour with overtime after 40 hours.
