Description:

Do you like interacting with new people and having a variety of work to accomplish in any given day ?  If so, we're Walker Aggregates in Essex County, Ontario.  We have a Sales Rep position and we want to hear from you.


Walker Aggregates is a division of Walker Industries.


We supply high quality aggregates and asphalt to communities across much of Ontario. 


The materials produced at our quarries, pits and asphalt plants are used to build Ontario’s infrastructure which is the foundation of our economy – including roads, bridges, underground infrastructure, sidewalks, houses, schools and hospitals.


Qualifications:


 



  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal and communication skills to promote and foster relationships with existing and potential customers and industry associates.

  • Demonstrated numeric skills to produce accurate and prompt estimates.

  • Demonstrated computer skills to produce reports, documents, proposals and presentations as required.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.

  • Business acumen - demonstrated understanding of quality standards relative to sales and marketing/business development.

  • Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.

  • Proficient communication skills, both oral and written to disseminate information with clarity, in one on one, or group situations.

  • Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required

  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues, including and senior management.

  • Thorough - work is done correctly and thoroughly, attentive to details, keeps accurate records

  • Proactive - anticipates and initiates action to meet needs

  • Adaptable - able to work with diverse personalities and styles.  


Responsibilities



  1. Services existing customer accounts by maintaining regular contact, responding to inquiries and   providing updates with new products, to maintain and increase sales revenues and customer satisfaction.

  2. Utilizes accepted corporate pricing practices to provide customers with prompt and accurate estimates.

  3. Performs market analysis to explore and identify prospective customers based on research conducted from newspapers, business directories, industry advertisements, trade shows and internet web sites etc. 

  4. Contacts construction and private sector customers to promote aggregate products.  Travels to customer’s sites to evaluate needs and requirements to recommend products that meet the client’s needs.

  5. Investigates customer complaints and/or concerns to provide timely counsel and advice and achieve successful remedies.

  6. Develops and maintains relationships with industry associates to identify and take advantage of synergies in services provided.

  7. Assists the credit department with collections of past due account to avoid delays in receiving payments.

  8. Attends various meetings to maintain current knowledge of products and pricing.
