Sourcing Manager
The sourcing manager at Goodfood Market is responsible for the procurement of food items and it’s day-to-day activities. He/she makes sure the team operates efficiently and that the purchasing activities are profitable, exceed quality standards and get completed in a timely manner.
Responsabilities

Develop sourcing strategies and help the procurement team meet company objectives regarding food cost budget, inbound logistics and product quality/quantity;

Ensure procurement team is hitting KPI’s such as food cost per portion, length of purchasing cycle, inventory levels, product specifications and fill rates;

Work closely with Director of Procurement (and Strategic Sourcing Manager), Quality Assurance Manager and members from the Operations team to hit all required targets on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis;

Coach buyers on analyzing quotations & tender offers, negotiating various terms and making proper arrangements for inbound logistics with all suppliers;

Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock surpluses or shortages; ensure that the team maintains optimal inventory levels to meet weekly production needs;

Continuously monitor and reassess facility needs and ensure all materials are received in a timely manner. Follow up on PO’s to ensure that scheduled delivery dates are met and that supplier quotes are honored.

Propose operational changes to the Director of Procurement. Initiate and lead projects to continuously improve efficiency, eliminate wasteful processes and reduce cost.

Prepare and present reports, conduct meetings and provide relevant information with regards to performance relative to business objectives.

Be responsible for projecting and establishing weekly quantities of product to be ordered through accurate data management, KPI analysis and appropriate inter-departmental communications.

Whenever necessary, communicate directly with suppliers for various reasons;

Actively problem solve as issues arise, including finding alternative solutions to short or scarce products;

Regularly visit suppliers and be responsible for making sure that incoming products meet or exceed our quality standards;

Be aware of market conditions to promptly communicate availability issues and act upon favorable buying opportunities;

Continuously improve the supplier ranking system and approve list of suppliers used on a weekly basis.
Requirements

Passion for food;
-
Bachelor’s degree completed in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or other relevant fields;

3-5 years experience in food purchasing and inventory management (retail/wholesale) - experience working directly with growers and product manufacturers is an asset;

1-3 years experience in team management;

Fully bilingual (French and English);

Strong analytical skills and negotiation abilities; capacity to effectively communicate and influence positive change;

Strong belief in conducting business ethically;

Capacity to prioritize and manage time effectively; demonstration of exceptional project management skills;

Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong listening skills;

Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment;

Must be a team player, possess outstanding customer-focused attitude and be motivated to coach and mentor a group towards the realization of ambitious goals;

Proficient with Microsoft office, google docs, advanced Excel
