Director of Operations
We are currently looking to add a talented Director of Operations to our team to help us continue grow successfully within the Canadian market. In 2016, Goodfood was recognized by the magazine Canadian Business as a pioneer in digital commerce innovation.
Responsibilities

Manage the smooth functioning of high paced weekly production cycles

Develop, implement, improve and maintain efficient production systems that scale and maintain the Goodfood quality standard

Identify and lead the implementation and use technology solutions to continuously improve operations, reporting and forecasting

Build a world class production team

Lead the organization and hiring of your supporting team to assure amazing customer experience, improve efficiency and maintain a safe working environment

Lead and motivate over 120 current production associates and team managers
-
Lead and develop training and onboarding programs (estimated at 200-300 production staff over the next 12 months)

KPIs and Budget Management
-
Identify and implement ways to reduce working capital

Oversee the inventory of all packaging and shipping items for production cycles and accounting purposes

Have major impact on Goodfood’s gross margin

Report and manage weekly KPIs

% of customers with quality concerns

Health and Food Safety

Ensure proper food safety is being respected in all parts of the production process

Work with relevant regulatory committees

Perform regular internal audits

Ensure proper training for health and safety of workforce

Perform quarterly internal audits of production area based on CFIA guidelines
-
Work with COO to improve overall packaging experience (supplier relationships, performance, quality, production efficiency)

Work with logistics team to improve client delivery experience (supplier relationships, performance, quality)

Continuously collaborate with sourcing, IT and member happiness teams to improve customer experience and solve issues;
-
Tasks include but are not limited to the above as the role is in constant evolution.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree completed;
5+ years of experience in operations or logistics management;
Proficiency in both english and french (oral and written);
Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting and distribution execution;
Proven experience in quickly scaling a production system;
Strong organization skills, priority management and attention to detail;
Full competence with Google Apps and Microsoft Office;
Comfort in working in both supervised and unsupervised environments;
Strong ability to work in an fast paced and rapidly changing environment;
B2C E-commerce experience (an asset);
5S and TPS training (an asset)
