The current COVID-19 pandemic has caused severe economic consequences around the world and some of the hardest hit businesses are the small ones, the “ma and pa shops,” and the “family run” businesses. Forced to close their doors for months, many have found/are finding it hard to stay afloat.
But amongst all these heart-breaking stories, there are amazing tales of “dynamic pivots” and “new innovations” by small businesses carving new paths in this new economic reality.
Take Fitzii for example. This pandemic meant many of our clients did not require our help with recruiting; most were experiencing slower demand and were actually laying off employees. Our team quickly came together to:
- Identify sectors that were undergoing increased demand for employees during COVID and
- Develop a plan to reach those businesses to show them how Fitzii can help with their hiring needs.
This pivot resulted in Fitzii signing a contract with one of the most affected industries during COVID-19. We have since helped long-term facilities across Ontario hire as many Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers as possible.
