Finance and Compliance Lead

rTraction has been in business for 25 years. We align people, purpose, and work so that organizations can achieve their full potential. 

We're looking for someone to take the lead on finance and compliance as Finance Manager within our team. The goal of the position is to manage our financial resources in line with our goals, our values, our commitments, and best practices for financial compliance.

This position is designed as a part-time role (24 hours/week) for an experienced accounting professional.

However, we are committed to mentorship and are open to structuring this as a full-time or near full-time position for a developing candidate who wants to grow into the role with additional time dedicated to training, professional development, and systems mastery.

Your accountabilities and day-to-day: 

  • Oversight of all key financial activities and systems

    • Semi-Monthly Payroll

    • Accounts Payable

    • Accounts Receivable

  • Financial reporting

    • Weekly leadership reports

    • External stakeholder reporting

    • Financial statements 

    • P&L

  • Compliance: 

    • Finance

    • HR

    • Contracts

    • CRA

  • Budget determination and controls

  • Asset management

  • Weekly leadership team meetings

Required skills & qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree / diploma, or equivalent experience (international education & experience welcome)

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in finance/accounting

  • Experience with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (GAAP, ASPE and/or IFRS)

  • Experience with accounting systems

  • Ability to work from our London, ON office 1 day/week for team collaboration

Desirable skills & qualifications:

  • CPA  Designation

  • Experience with:

    • Quickbooks Online

    • Doing business in the USA

    • Working with non-profits and charities

    • B Corp certification or other purpose-based certification. 

    • GAAP for Canadian corporations

Who you'll work with: 

  • You will work closely with: 

    • David Billson, CEO to ensure alignment between internal and external stakeholders. 

    • Jon Clemens, COO to ensure alignment with internal goals and financial metrics. 

You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who believe in the values behind our manifesto and our promise as a B Corp. 

Compensation & Schedule

Total Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 (Based on experience and schedule structure)

How this works: We have a fixed budget for this critical role, but the schedule is flexible based on your expertise:

  • Senior/Expert Level: Approx. 24 hours/week (3 days) @ ~$45-50/hr equivalent.

  • Developing Professional: 37.5 hours/week (Full-time) @ ~$28-32/hr equivalent.
