We are looking for a full-time Compliance Coordinator to join our team in our Guelph office! This role is open as part of a recent vacancy. Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

The hourly compensation range for this position is $25.00 to $29.00, based on experience.  

Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, this role is responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance metrics associated with the operation of water and wastewater treatment sites. This may include reviewing lab results and verifying that consistent QA/QC measures are being applied across all sites by evaluating applicable data and producing necessary reports.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish sampling requirements and sampling schedules, including parameters and frequency, based on regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain accurate and effective communication with laboratories regarding specific site sampling requirements, pick up schedules, analysis status and quotations.
  • Answer Operation Team questions and provide support with regard to sampling procedures, frequency, or regulatory requirements.
  • Complete quality assurance reviews on laboratory reports, resolve quality assurance issues, verify invoice accuracy and submit invoices to Finance. Provide clarification on testing details as required.
  • Report findings to applicable personnel to take appropriate next steps for acceptable and/or unacceptable samples.
  • Compile data packages detailing QA/QC of all samples for invoicing and filing.
  • Compile and monitor required regulatory documents for sites and coordinate with the File Clerk.
  • Assist with the creation and final review of reports and compliance letters. 
  • Assist in identifying gaps in documentation with respect to reporting requirements and assist the Engineering and Operations Teams in correcting gaps.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of internal programs, data storage, and data management processes. Identify potential areas of non-compliance, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Report findings to management and recommend corrective action as needed.
  • Assist in the production of annual reports, including tracking of maintenance lists, sludge hauling tables, chemical use, etc.
  • Support the Operations and Engineering teams with tracking of site log data, identifying trends and assisting with developing solutions.
  • Provide coverage during planned and unplanned absences of the Service Administrator, including participation in an On-Call rotation outside of regular hours.
  • Participates as needed in special department projects.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary engineering technologist or applied science diploma/degree program is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related role.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Water Resources Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act, Health Protection and Promotion Act, and associated regulations.
  • Advanced level of skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe.
  • Strong ability to analyze and check data entry from a variety of source documents with an extreme level of attention to detail, while meeting necessary deadlines.
  • The ability to efficiently multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enjoy working with numbers and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce various professional written documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and diligently with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Positive, responsible, and self-motivated with demonstrated organizational skills.
