313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician (Commercial Service)

Fox Refrigeration & HVAC is seeking an experienced and dependable 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to join their commercial service team. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment
• Diagnose, service, and repair refrigeration systems and packaged rooftop units (mechanical, electrical, and controls)
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify components nearing end-of-life
• Service a wide range of equipment including undercounter units, prep tables, walk-ins, and refrigeration rack systems
• Complete accurate service documentation, including work orders and service reports
• Communicate repair needs and maintenance findings with dispatch or management
• Source replacement parts and coordinate with suppliers as needed
• Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and materials
• Keep job sites and service vehicles clean, organized, and professional

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and job-site safety procedures
• Comply with OHSA, TSSA, CSA, and applicable mechanical and gas codes
• Work safely to protect yourself, coworkers, customers, and property
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing technical training

On-Call & Scheduling

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and emergency service
• Ability to work flexible hours when required

Qualifications

• Valid 313A Certificate of Qualification (Journeyperson preferred; minimum 3rd-year apprentice considered)
• G2 Gas Technician certification
• Experience servicing packaged rooftop units up to 400 MBH
• Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment ranging from self-contained units to rack systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable working at heights
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
