Our Firm has an opening for a Junior Staff Accountant, US Tax to join our team. The Position Detailsare as follows:
- Status: Full Time
- Office Location: Burlington
- Salary Range: $54,500-$65,500
- Additional Compensation Info: 3% Short Term Incentive Plan
- Reason for Hire: Replacement
Reporting to Partners and Managers, you will be responsible for:
- Being a key contributor to the growth of a new US Tax group, and contributing to tax planning and client management initiatives
- Under supervision, preparing all types of US tax returns, including personal and corporate returns
- Researching and interpreting tax legislation, formulating solutions, and providing suggestions
- Providing technical support on US personal and corporate tax projects
- Assistance to other offices of the Firm as required
- Additional responsibilities as required to support Firm objectives
The ideal candidate will have
- Graduate of a University Accounting Program, or equivalent, or Enrollment in a University Co-op Accounting Program, or equivalent
- Pursuing US Certified Public Accountant and/or Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Experience in a public accounting Firm, an asset
- Thorough understanding of the Internal Revenue Code
- Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, Taxprep and Microsoft Office programs an asset
