Position Overview

The Order Picker is responsible for the prompt and accurate assembly of customer orders. The incumbent possesses strong knowledge of Reunion Island Coffee product and product availability. The Order Picker ensures all orders are accurate and assembled free from defects, in a neat presentation. He or she will be required to follow all safety policies and procedures and work to maintain a clean warehouse environment. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to the shipping area;
• Keep track of and handle paperwork (pick lists, special requests, etc.) with care;
• Work with other departments (customer service, other plant employees) as part of a team;
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method;
• Assist in counting of physical inventory;
• Wear proper safety equipment;
• Participate in the organization and storage of goods including supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring shipments are prepared for delivery and delivered in a timely manner;
• Respond to inquiries of staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, etc.;
• Perform other duties as assigned;
• Responsible to report food safety problems and or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions;
• Responsible for GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety and quality, and being aware of SQF System Program.

• Maintain high level of housekeeping abiding by the C.L.E.A.N. program;

Requirements

• High school diploma;
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and orders;
• Working knowledge of Reunion Island Coffee products;
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;
• Basic mathematical skills;
• Working knowledge of safe lifting methods;
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently;
• Attention to detail in all areas of work;
• Good organizational, time management, and prioritization skills;
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
