Job Description:


The Vendor Relations Manager builds and strengthens relationships with customers and suppliers across the region. This role designs and manages programs and initiatives that demonstrate the business value of promotions and marketing campaigns, and uses market intelligence to improve partnerships, sales and operational performance.  In addition, the Vendor Manager influences inventory selection for the Division. The incumbent reports to the General Manager and works closely with Westburne branch locations, account managers, suppliers and national teams to support divisional profitability.


 


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:



  • Organize quarterly business reviews with prime vendor partners and, together with partners, develop and execute strategic sales plans.

  • Work in conjunction with the Sales organization to ensure profitable market share growth.

  • Provide input on product marketing and promotional activities; evaluate effectiveness and provide feedback to suppliers in collaboration with the National Marketing Team.

  • Collaborate with suppliers on product placement, pricing and positioning to optimize sales initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain a broad market intelligence network; use insights to strengthen relationships and inform supplier selection.

  • Analyze supplier purchase and sales data to identify margin-improvement opportunities and negotiate pricing for bulk buys and new product introductions.

  • Work with National teams to manage warehouse inventory additions and maintain healthy inventory balances.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support division objectives.


 


 


Skills / Qualifications:



  • Post Secondary education plus a minimum of five (5) years related experience in the industry, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Experience in customer and supplier relations.

  • Expert knowledge in related disciplines and implementation process.

  • Strong planning, analytical, organizational, decision making and time management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

  • Superior project and time management skills.

  • Strong computer skills, specifically Excel.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
