Practice Consultant – Policy and Legislation

The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM)seeks an enthusiastic, experienced individual to collaborate closely with colleagues across all departments of the organization to analyze, develop, and maintain policies, standards, and other guidance items for pharmacy practice as a Practice Consultant – Policy and Legislation. This is a 0.80 FTE term position to fill a leave of absence.
About the Position
The ideal candidate will support the analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, processes, and/or programs as identified in the strategic and operational priorities of CPhM. The individual in this position works closely with other staff to support core functions related to assessing and monitoring professional practice, pharmacy operations and systems, registration and licensing, and quality improvement.
Assets include a working knowledge of health-professions legislation, including The Pharmaceutical Act of Manitoba and supporting Pharmaceutical Regulation, administrative, organizational, and time management skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD

Licensed registrant of the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba or eligible to be registered and licensed in Manitoba

Advanced knowledge of Administrative Law and the regulation of self-governing professionals

Advanced knowledge of pharmacy-related legislation and the ability to interpret and apply knowledge

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional English writing skills, with experience preparing external communications (letters, reports, data analysis)
Assets to Application

Five or more years of pharmacy practice experience in Canada

Experience working in a health regulatory environment, interpreting, and applying legislation

Conditions of Employment

This is a 0.80 FTE term position, based on a 37.5-hour work week (30 hours per week)

The start and length of the term depend on the successful candidate’s availability and will be negotiated.

The weekly work schedule is flexible, as mutually agreed upon with the employer

Work model includes a mix of remote and onsite work; onsite required initially to effectively accomplish training and collaboration

Ability to work remotely and communicate and collaborate using various software platforms (i.e., Zoom Meetings, Webinar, Microsoft Office 365)

Occasional requirement to work outside regular business hours for travel, special meetings
