We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to work in our offices in Portland, Oregon.
A Little About Us:
Fully makes and sells office furniture that is beautiful, well-built, and designed to create a healthy, supportive workplace where everyone can feel and do their best. It’s our mission to help people find balance through movement and connection, and we embody that in how we work. We’re proud to be a unique and diverse team; a quirky collection of creatives, nerds, yogis, dancers, foodies, climbers, cyclists, and movement fanatics. We’re committed to cultivating an environment where our team members can come as they are.
Our employee culture is built on compassion, respect, and the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that honoring each individual’s talents, gifts, and voice not only makes us a stronger team but enriches the wider world. While we acknowledge that this is a process of ongoing learning, we recognise that we as a company are charged with the important work of continuously developing and adopting tangible and sustainable practices that are rooted in our values of compassion, integrity, and collaboration.
We hire people we believe in and who are equally passionate about engaging in a progressive and active workplace. We are constantly moving, learning, and evolving both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, we believe life is too short not to love where you work.
A Little About You:
At Fully, the technical is personal! Collaboration is a value that permeates the company culture, and in this position, you will need to be a consistent advocate for both strong system design and the business goals of non-technical stakeholders. You should approach new initiatives with an open mind that is nevertheless ready to think critically about your and others’ assumptions.
Most importantly, you have a passion for automating repetitive or redundant work and improving the lives of your coworkers by helping their computing systems work for them, rather than against them.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst designs and creates automated solutions for business problems, and designs, implements, and optimizes integrations between the systems that drive the business. This role is that of a technical leader, and involves strategizing new solutions, facilitating implementations, coordinating with software vendors, troubleshooting new and existing features, ensuring good data quality, analyzing data for evidence of system health or failure, and doing all of this from a place of strong familiarity with the nuts and bolts that hold the systems together. This role may spend some time developing or modifying custom code-based solutions to certain business requirements, so some comfort with programming is needed, though this position is more of an architect than programmer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and develop effective technical solutions that span multiple interconnected systems, including delegation of tasks and project management where appropriate.
Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all technical systems in use at Fully, including website, ERP, integrations, IT management software, and others.
Lead development of custom systems integrations, utilizing internal and/or external resources, and including delegation of tasks and project management where appropriate.
Facilitate gathering of requirements information for departmental tasks and projects.
Maintain thorough and well-organized documentation of all new and proposed solutions.
Devise and execute thorough test plans to ensure that production system releases maintain high quality standards.
Translate effectively between business and technical units to ensure specifications are well-understood and mutually agreeable to all stakeholders.
Autonomously investigate unfamiliar systems and processes in order to research and develop optimal solutions.
Analyze operational barriers and brainstorm creative technical solutions to achieve low-effort, high-impact results.
Own and manage overall health of systems and integrations, and delegate the troubleshooting of bugs and issues proactively.
Responsible for cost/benefit analysis of proposed solutions, and the review of cost/benefit for existing systems and processes.
Serve as a technical systems subject matter expert for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Excellent debugging skills and strong technical intuition
Demonstrated ability to excel in a multi-system environment, utilizing different SaaS platforms and cloud systems and integrations between them
Demonstrated ability to understand abstract computational logic
Excel or Google Sheets experience required
Experience with Netsuite or other ERP administration strongly preferred
Experience with MySQL or other relational database preferred
Experience with Magento 2 a plus
4-8 years of relevant professional experience
2-3 years of experience in a design and/or strategic role on a technical team
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or other technical field preferred
Department: Systems / IT
Reports to: Director of Technology
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.
