Job Application
Sales Associate
Feeling drained from searching for your perfect role? Want to energize your career?
Look no further. With Edmonds Batteries, you’ll have more than just another job. You’ll have a supportive team, a fun and relaxed work environment, and endless opportunities to grow your skills.
We’re looking for you, our newest Sales Associate. You’re a people-person with a knack for solving tricky puzzles. You love helping others find solutions and want to work somewhere you can use your problem-solving skills to make a positive impact.
If you’re ready to become the newest member of our team, read on!
Sales Associate:
Your main priority in this position is to provide service to our walk-in customers.
Customers will come in with batteries of all kinds (mainly automotive) and you’ll help them diagnose their problems. You’ll take them through our trusted sales process, prepare parts and service quotes, and handle basic battery installation when needed.
We know you’re not a battery expert yet – that’s why we’ll train you to make sure you can provide the best service and advice to our customers. You’ll shadow our experts on calls, installations, and customer interactions to learn the ropes. You’ll learn our products by picking stock for orders and stocking shelves.
Our customers will love you because you’ll focus on finding them the right solutions – not just making a sale.
The Right Fit:
A bit of sales or customer service experience will help you hit the ground running in this role, but there’s a few key reasons why you’re the right fit:
- You don’t mind getting a little dirty – you’ll be working with dirty batteries, with vehicles, and sometimes outdoors to help customers in our parking lot. You’ll go the extra mile to help diagnose their problems.
- You stay calm under pressure – when we get busy, you don’t get flustered. You can go with the flow, and multitask like a pro.
- You take initiative – when you see a potential problem, you come up with solutions on your own. When you see a potential learning opportunity, you don’t let it slip by.
- You enjoy working with your hands – you feel comfortable using tools like wrenches, sockets, and drills for basic battery installations, and love doing hands-on work.
Working @ Edmonds Batteries:
We’ve been in business for over 35 years, and pride ourselves on our low turnover. If you ask our team why they stay with us, they’ll tell you that it’s because we’re a family run business that treats them like family. We respect our employees and treat everyone fairly.
There’s a lot of growth opportunity here. We work with our employees to find their perfect role, where they can use their strengths well and develop professionally. We care about your job satisfaction, and your work/life balance.
We have fun together too – we recognize your birthday, celebrate employees of the month, and have great summer and Christmas parties. We’re a diverse group; no matter where you come from, you’re sure to find new friends here.
The Details:
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5 pm. You’ll start by working in our busy Langley location, and as you become more independent, you’ll cover other nearby locations too. Eventually, you’ll learn how to cover a store on your own, and when you’re fully trained, you’ll pitch in to cover occasional Saturday shifts.
You’ll be paid $16 to start, with the opportunity for pay increases as you gain more experience. After six months, you’ll receive great benefits: drug coverage, vision, dental, other benefits like massage, chiropractic and acupuncture, and a $150 yearly allowance for work clothes.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a customer-facing role (sales, customer service)
- Experience with cash handling in a retail environment
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis throughout an 8 hour shift
- Experience working with tools is preferred (wrenches, sockets, drills)
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (for emergency deliveries)
- Dangerous goods training and forklift training is an asset (we’ll train you)
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
How to Apply:
Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume. The application will assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, and should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After submitting, you'll receive an email inviting you to log in and view your assessment results.
