Job Application
Senior Project Manager
Are you an experienced project manager who’s ready to expand your responsibilities, and influence a company’s direction?
Do you want a role that’s full of variety, where you can be in a constant state of growth?
We’re Alps Welding and you’ll find what you’re looking for with us. We’re an industry leader in custom fabrication, making mission-critical equipment, including pressure vessels, stacks, and heat exchanges for industrial process companies. Our reputation is built on 43 years of excellence and customer satisfaction, and our steady growth has us looking for an experienced senior project manager to join our winning team.
Senior Project Manager
Your primary goal will be to ensure that our projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality regulations and specifications.
From project specs to completion, you’ll plan the entire process, oversee all execution and delivery, and follow up with the client to make sure they’re fully satisfied.
You’ll also use your honed people skills to build strong relationships with our clients, and mentor our junior project managers.
Specifically, you will:
- Take responsibility for resource planning, scheduling, documentation, budget, customer communication and any other activities required for success of the project.
- Develop and issue the project requirements and instructions to the production team.
- Plan all project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using the appropriate software tools.
- Develop Bills of Manufacturing from customer drawings, including all material, subcontracting, operations, and inspection required.
- Track project costs and progress and report out to clients, the project team, and company management.
- Be responsible for identifying over-runs, technical issues and scope changes, recommending corrections and communicating to all parties.
- Perform project analysis at project completion, including evaluation of cost, delivery, and lessons learned.
- Assist QA, shop and sales departments as needed.
- Coordinate project sub-contract work (i.e. plate rolling, machining, painting, heat treating, etc.).
We tell our customers that we help them overcome the monster. They come to us because they need help to avoid a big scary problem. More than a manufacturer, we’re a service company. Understanding the interpersonal and customer-facing elements will make you great at this job.
You’re the person we’re looking for if you’re:
- Flexible – you pivot on a dime to serve our clients, and you can help your team adjust to new situations.
- Positive – you have an unflappable resolve and contagious energy.
- Accountable – when you take on a project, you fully own it. You don’t pass the buck or hope someone else will solve problems for you.
- A strong communicator – you speak and write with clarity, listen carefully, and can cut to the heart of any situation.
